So who are the Friends of Two Rivers SnowFest? What’s the group up to? When can we expect to hear more about SnowFest? How can I help? These are some of the more common questions that I receive when I am out in the community and people ask me about our efforts to bring SnowFest back to Two Rivers in 2020. This week, we are going to pull back the curtain a bit on our group and let you know a little more about the group and what we have been up to.

Our group was founded in 2018 and actually developed out of a want to have a t-shirt made with an older SnowFest logo. One thing led to another and a group of people started meeting to see if it was reasonable to bring this festival back.

Fast forward to January of this year. The Friends of Two Rivers SnowFest was born and was formalized through articles of incorporation, bylaws, and the election of officers. It was at that time the group saw the dream of SnowFest really starting to take shape.

By April of this year we applied for and attained status as a 501c3 organization. This now makes all donations tax deductible which is a huge benefit for an organization such as ours as we fundraise.

Since this time we have hosted or have been part of several Bands on the Beach events through Two Rivers Parks and Rec, as well as hosting our Blast from the Past event in June. These events further strengthening our passion to make SnowFest a reality.

Our group meets monthly on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. We started meeting at Weichert Cornerstone Realtors. However, now we are consistently meeting at the Lester Public Library. Needless to say we outgrew the room we were in!

The officers of the group along with the members of the group are working diligently to put together a great event with high quality entertainment and a truly awesome family experience. However, we need help from everyone to make that happen.

We are looking for volunteer help in all areas of the event and have active committees: fundraising, PR, parade planning, entertainment, operations, and merchandising.
