SnowFest 2024 kicked off with a wide variety of music, food, family activities and fun for everyone that attended. This year the event was situated around the Jaycees Shelter and the new playground. Thank you volunteers for the great support in helping make the whole event flow!!!
Two country bands took to the Seehafer News Stage Friday night to cheering crowds. JIM GAFF AND COYOTE POSSE BAND brought their outlaw country, and headliner band, NASHVILLE PIPELINE brought their unique melodies and sounds to the stage. In the course of the evening, attendees in the Family and Kid’s zone enjoyed carnival games, snowball fights, learning how to line dance, jumping from inflatable to inflatable, and the Dunk Tank started up, MC’d by WOMT personality Steven Devine.
Saturday morning started with the SnowFest parade. The SnowFest float with Chiller on a moving surfboard, penguins sipping Margaritas in lawn chairs, and snowman rocking out on guitar, led the lineup down Columbus Street in Two Rivers. The streets themselves were lined with smiling, eager faces of young and old having fun. The real Chiller along with Santa Claus, peppered the crowd with snowballs as they came up the rear of the parade. Six parade entries won trophies for best floats.
Following the parade, families and the crowd made their way to Neshotah Park. A vendor fair was bustling with shoppers. Food trucks were whipping up their specialties. Sheboygan’s Chinese Dragon Dancers and C-Pop gave a steller performance. All day the festival grounds were filled with people and children enjoying carnival games, snowball fights, crazy clothes games, learning how to make balloon animals, creating and flying paper airplanes, jumping from inflatable to inflatable and game to game, and free bingo. The Dunk Tank, again MC’d by Steven Devine, created a splashing time for our local celebrities. WIXX radio personality, Dan “Huggie” Amsden, in snowman costume and all, had little time to recover from dunk after dunk during his hour. Thank you Huggie for being a good sport!
The afternoon crowds enjoyed eclectic music under the Seehafer News Stage, from JAMMIN WITH JD, with their take on modern rock hits, and ARCADE CHANGE, with music of the 1990’s and 2000’s. Saturday evening, BACCHUS LOTUS took the stage playing deep cut garage rock. They were followed by headliner band, MT. OLIVE with their high-powered arena and current rock that had everyone singing. THE NIX closed out the night with the music of REO, Journey, STYX, and more.
A warm and humid Sunday dawned and the smell of great food, sounds of excitement and bubbles galore filled the air of Neshotah Park. The vendor fair, SnowFest merchandise and food tents, and food trucks were busy serving customers.
The Seehafer News Stage was filled with the music and entertainment of RILEY HAUPT, who brought engaging music ranging from upbeat songs to all-time ballads. TADAH-Music of Tanya and Dave, followed with classic rock music to engaged festival goers. The final act under the music tent, GONE2PARADISE, brought the largest crowds and did not disappoint with songs of Jimmy Buffett transporting audiences to a tropical oasis where they escaped the daily grind and embraced the laid-back, Margaritaville state of mind.
Attendees in the Family and Kid’s Zone enjoyed inflatables, carnival games, snowball fights, giant bubble wands, and Bubble Ambiance with master bubble creator Michelle. At the Lincoln Park Zoo Presentation, kid’s petted lizards, turtles, a chicken, and even cockroaches. Free Bingo for prizes and the Dunk Tank were a smash hit and will likely be back for SnowFest 2025.
Thanks go out to everyone, from the community sponsors to social media influencers, to volunteers. We hope you all enjoyed the festival, and we look forward to bringing you SnowFest 2025!
